petra hotel good and bad pointsPosted: Wed, Dec 31 1969Value:
3The Petra hotel is a hotel that does have good facilities such as a gym, pool, tennis courts and a solarium. however the pool is only open in the summer and the solarium is at an extra fee. The tv is also at an extra fee as we could only get one channel. The hotel does have a restaurant that does offer a good meal and menu but be prepared to wait as the service was very poor even when the restaurant was very quiet, they do charge a sevice fee which was not much and check the bill as we had extras added which we never ordered and some items we did order never appeared. The hotel offers a free shuttle service to and from the Metro up until 7pm which was very useful. We ordered a double bed and had 2 singles pushed together and made to look like a double. The hotel was very clean and the staff are very friendly and can speak relatively good english. They have internet access for a small fee and a place to store lugage if your flight is late on the day of departure. breakfast is ok if u like fruit, bread, yogurt, cake and cold meats. but does get a bit boring after 4 days. The mini fridge in the rooms are not included in the price. There is adequate car parking but if you are only planning to look around Rome then i suggest u dont hire a car as there is no parking in the city and the public transport is very frequent and quick at a low cost. Overall the hotel was a nice stay but i think i would stay closer to the city or a metro stop as late at night it becomes hard to get back to the hotel or expensive if using a taxi. I did enjoy the stay and would use the hotel again if exploring out side of Romes capital. I would rate this hotel 7/10
