2nd Stay at Hotel Flaminius
Posted: Sat, Jul 19 2008
My wife and I just returned to the US from Rome where we stayed at Hotel Flaminius for 10 days. We stayed there because I had been to Rome last November for a brief visit and enjoyed my stay at this hotel. We found the staff to be cordial and helpful. The room was large, clean, well kept, air-conditioned and had a balcony. We had a good breakfast each morning. Internet service is available. The hotel Director, Mr. Stefano, and also Ms. Cristina were especially helpful with providing directions to some tourist sites in Rome. The train to Rome is still 1 euro and takes about 18 minutes to Piazza del Popolo/Metro. From there you can walk to the various sites, transfer to the Metro system, or take a taxi. We would definitely stay there again. J.S.

Perfect for the Rugby in Rome
Posted: Mon, Jul 07 2008
Simple little hotel outside if the city centre near the rugby ground and the Olympic Stadium (which are two seperate things). Perfect if you're going for one of the above. Not a million miles from town - just a tram ride to Polpolo and then you can walk wherever u want from there. Breakfast's not much to rave about but the staff were very nice and seemed helpful enough. Pretty cheap for Rome too.

I went to the flaminius hotel with my friend, both of us being 18 yrs old wanting a short city break werent too sure what to expect, having read some awful reviews and some good ones we were expecting to be slightly disappointed. However this hotel did not disappoint us in the slightest, after battling with the metro and the trains to get to La Celsa, when we arrived there in the dark after a long day of travelling I was getting quite stressed and when we left the metro station it was like we were in the middle of nowhere, however we asked a friendly local who pointed us in the right direction and we found it after 200m. We found one of the consierge, extremely helpful and was willing to help with everything. We had a new double room, where within 5 minutes I had managed to cut off all the electricity by pressing a green button, I wouldnt recommend you do this! Anyway the decor was very modern, we had a lovely big room with a flat screen tv which unfortunately the only english channel was CNN which got a little repetitive, but it was ok! It was extremely clean the floor was spotless and the bathroom was small but everything was packed in nicely, a big shower cubicle, which had a reasonably powerful shower. The breakfast was lovely, the crossiants were fresh and a wide selection of jams and nutella, also there was different breads and cheeses, or cereal, cakes and fruit. Which was good to fill up on and set us up for the day. The travelling around is the only downside as it is quite a way out of the way, however you can buy a tram ticket for 1 euro which lasts for 75 minutes and easily gets you to where you want to be. There is a resturant next to the hotel which is a family run place which serves pasta and pizza, Im sure in the summer months would have more people in it, but we got take away pizza and a bbottle of wine for 25 euro which was reasonable as the pizzas are a good size. Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and loved Rome, it is good value for money and for a short break I would go back.

Enjoyed My Stay At Flaminius Hotel
Posted: Sun, Dec 30 2007
I traveled from the USA to Rome and stayed at the Flaminius Hotel for five days in late November, 2007. The room was very comfortable and quiet. The hotel personnel were very hospitable. I enjoyed a good breakfast each morning. The rooms were kept clean each day. The hotel is very conveniently located near the train which takes you to the center of Rome. It is just about a five minute walk from the hotel door to the LaCelsa train stop. The train is only one euro each way and runs regularly. It is about a fifteen to twenty minute train ride to the tourist sites. I would recommend this hotel based on my experience there. J.S.
