It was our last night in Italy and we wished to psend our last night relaxing in a nice luxury hotel, drinking wine, unwinding while maybe watching a movie or jumping online to catch up with the world back home. We checked in and immediately found that our TV did not work, the internet access in the room did not work, and later when we decided to go to sleep, our air conditioning did not work. They twice sent maintenance personnel to our room to fix the various issues but never fixed any of them. Despite this total lack of working amenities, they only offered us a free breakfast as compensation. In the end we demanded a reduced rate and got only 25% off. We expected at least 50% considering we essentially were provided with nothing more than a bed and a shower. We could have gotten that at a youth hostel for 25 euro, instead we paid several hundred dollars to be treated like dirt.
