Hotel Harmony - Rome, Italy     

I would not under any circumstances recommend this hotel to others - the room was unclean, excessively hot (airconditioning was not available for an extra charge, as advertised) and the "shower" (a tiny cubicle with a plastic pull round "door") was so small that neither I nor my travelling companion could actually fit into it . We left after one night. We were required to pay for the total of our stay on arrival and the reason for that soon became clear. At the mention of the word "refund" the receptionist (manager?) became very aggressive and refused to accept that we were entitled to a refund (the booking confirmation indicated that if the booking was modified later only the first night would be charged and the hotel's own web-site says nothing about cancellation penalties). His default posiion was that he had no authority to give refunds in any event. Only the manger could do so. Conveniently enough the manager was not available til the next day and the man we spoke to was not able to disclose the manager's name - talk about customer service. Defintely the worst hotel I have ever stayed in.
