The best thing about the Valadier Hotel is its location. It is not as large (especially the rooms) as the photos indicate. However, I spent most of my time outside the hotel so for me it was great. The only meals I had there were the buffet breakfasts. There are so many close restaurants close by that that was not a problem. Compared to the other 4-star hotels I've stayed at on this trip (all in Italy), I would consider it a 3-star ... but the price is right. Located close to the Spanish Steps makes it easy to find - especially after a late dinner and a lot of wine.

This hotel was located perfectly for any talented tourists wanting great walking distance to famous sites and fabulous dining. Some rooms are tight, some are not (depends on luck), but all are clean and modern. Bathrooms in fine Italian marble. Breakfast buffet is fresh and delicious and the underground pub next door (as well as the terrace restaurant) are great choices for eating. Definitely one of the best hotels in Rome.

They kicked us out for others who paid more

I liked the location (next to Piazza Del Popolo), and the rooms were modern and clean, but no two rooms are the same. I was on a business trip where five of us booked this hotel from the airport for 180 Euros a night including breakfast for two nights. The second day, they kicked us out for more paying guests saying that we don't have proof of booking for two nights! They did not block any amount on our credit cards until the second day, so that we don't have any proof of booking for the two nights. They moved us to a lower-class hotel next door for 200 Euros a night. Lesson learned: either a known chain hotel or a five-star no less in Rome.
