"Clean, Convenient, and what a view"

We spent a week in Rome at the Bettoja Hotel Mediterraneo and thoroughly enjoyed it. This is a moderate size hotel (150 or so rooms) located 1 block from the Teremini metro station, the main bus station and the main rail station in Rome. The area wasn't elegant, but we found it completely safe and very convenient for getting around Rome. Walk down the Via Cavour and you are at the Roman forum in about 15 minutes. The area has restaurants, pizzarias, a bakery, a small market and the national roman museum is around the corner. Our room (#816) was extremely clean, large, and had the only balcony in the hotel. Maid service was great. The people at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. When we needed a wake-up call, it was on time. The hotel provided a large breakfast room with a good selection of items. Coffee, juice, salami, ham, eggs, cornflakes, toast, yogurt, etc. were available each day with prompt and friendly service from a large staff. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. I would rank it as a 3 star hotel.

We thought the hotel was great! The people were very friendly and helpful. The room was a good size, who spends time in the room anyway...The furthest attraction is only 2 miles away, although I wouldn't recommend walking unless you are used to a lot of exercise. The double decker bus tour was great, other than the fact that tehy seemed to be a little off the time schedule. The terrace bar/restraunt was very nice although a bit over priced. We have already started planning our next trip to Rome and will definitly stay at this hotel again!

First time to Rome for my wife, daughter, and myself. Hotel was wonderful and very convenient to where we wanted to go, either walking, metro, or train. Staff was polite and helpful, especially getting taxi's ahead of time for our different departures. Only unimpressive part was restaurant at top. Pricey, and we enjoyed better fare elsewhere. Would gladly stay here again.

This was my first trip to Rome and I couldn't have chosen a better location. The hotel is a block to Termini, lots of cabs on Via Cavore, and a subway entrance is a block north. The hotel staff was very friendly, someone on staff always new English and they were super helpful. Our room and bathroom were larger than I expected for Europe. The bathroom was recently remodeled and very nice. The rooms look a little outdated, but are clean and have everything you need. The free breakfast in the mornings is great, since nowhere else are you going to find more for b'fast than coffee and pastry. I would skip the rooftop restaurant except for the view. The food is overpriced and not very good, so your typical hotel restaurant. I would go here again and would recommend to anyone going to Rome. Within walking distance are a few good restaurants, an all night pizza-kebab across the street, bars are close, pharmacy across the street...what more do you need :)
