Hotel Villa Florence - Rome, Italy     

We stayed in Hotel Villa Florence for 2 days and found the service excellent. Breakfast was quite nice with fresh coffees made on request by an attentive waiter. The overall charm of the building is warming. Our room was elegant with cosy balconies. Bit of a walk to Termini Station(`20 min walk), a subway or bus trip is recommended

I question the reliability of the property review on the Hotel Villa Florence. I can not believe that anyone could find the accomodations at this hotel acceptable! It is evident that this hotel has not been maintained. We stayed in room 101. The carpet leading up the stairs was filthy, there were water stains on the rugs on the first landing. As we approached our room the wall paper was torn and hanging from the wall. The wall paper across the hall from us was peeling from the wall. The air conditioner did not work properly leaving the room warm and stuffy. There was a general smell of mildew through out the entire hotel. My pillow was old and had holes in it where the stuffing was coming out. The hotel was filthy!!! Unfortunately, I did not take photographs of the hotel to support my review. My husband and I are easy to please but we do expect simple but clean accomodations. We noted a good number of good reviews when we booked the Villa Florence 6 - 7 months ago??? We would have cancelled our accomodations when we arrived, however, there was a 72 hour cancellation policy. It is unfortunate that you do not have any recourse but to stay at a hotel when the conditions are so poor. I hope that this review helps you with your decision about staying at this hotel.
