Horrible

The room I was in was unbelievably small, even for a European hotel room. The shower was barely big enough for me (I'm 5' 10" 175lbs.). I had to turn it off while soaping up. The shower doors were barely wide enough for me to fit between. The hotel is so small, it only encompasses part of one floor of the building. So, I could hear everyone in the rooms next to me, especially early in the morning. Also, when I was sleeping, the plumbing in the room next to me was next to my head so I was awoken every time someone used water. The air conditioning didn't work well at all. Also, the hotel is at the top of Via Veneto. You find out after you arrive that to get there you have to climb a hill for a long ways. After a day of touring around Rome it is extremely tedious and tiring to get to the hotel. It isn't close to anything either. It's closest to the Spanish Steps and the Trevi Fountain but you won't be spending much time at either. I would suggest you get something closer to the Vatican or Forums. Also, the woman at the front desk was rude to me upon my check out. I had borrowed a Rick Steves book which someone else had obviously left, and she basically accused me of trying to steal it. I had left the book in the room but she made me go to the room, retrieve the book and show it to her. I've been leaving my guides when I left a city (I traveled to 12 cities this trip) and I don't care if someone takes it after me or not. That's why you leave them.

This is a really great hotel to stay in. The location is excellent , right by the Spanish Steps and close to the Termini. The staff is excellent and super helpful. They even provided us with an extra map and suggestions on how to get around. Even the free breakfast was great, not just cold pastries. I would highly recommend this hotel even if it was more expensive. The only drawback is that the hot water was fickle, but it worked out ok.

This hotel was excellent, good location and excellent staff. The hotel will arrange collection and return from airport (40 euro) each way which includes tips. It is something I would recommend as the taxi drivers can take you via the scenic route from Termini Station to your hotel, and charge you (50euro) Rome in general was extremely expensive, eating out was extortion, unfortunately all cafes/restaurants are the same.

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. A short walk to the Spanish steps and Trevi fountain. Staff was very helpful and made our stay very enjoyable. Well done!

Hotel Golden is a nice hotel in the center of Rome. Hotel is only 5 minutes away from famous Via Veneto, close to the metro and to all historical places. Near hotel Golden are many good restaurants and a good supermarket. People at hotel Golden is very friendly and helpful. You have a nice feeling that you staying with your family. I highly recommend hotel Golden when you will visit Rome
