We booked directly by phone with Grazia at the Albergo del Senato, and she was able to offer us an attractive rate for two rooms for several days stay. We had not much idea of the layout of Rome, but this hotel is extremely well situated for all the ancient sites. Our room (Junior Suite) had a direct view of the Pantheon and the kids were in a smaller room next door. The front desk was extremely polite and friendly. Restaurant recommendations were reliable and bookings made promptly for dinners, guided tours, transport. The rooms are not particularly large (a few reviewers have commented on this...) but they were well-equipped, clean and modern, as were the bathrooms, with good showers. We weren't tripping over ourselves, but we spent very little time in the rooms, and almost all of it wandering around Rome, which is what most travellers will choose. Breakfast was reasonably standard 'continental' style (no menu of cooked food) and lunch and dinner are to be eaten out, which was a pleasure rather than a hardship. Wait staff were friendly and helpful.

Great area to stay in. The view of the Panethon is breathtaking. The roof top terrace was very nice. The room was a bit small, but perfectly ok, although a tad expensive, although so was everything in Rome! A very nice location, and great eating and drinking establishments very close by. This hotel's location was perfect for walking to the Vatican, Colseuem, Spanish Steps, Trevi Fountain and The Forum.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. We got a late checkout on our last day. We arranged a driver to take us to the airport in a Merc, which wasn't that much more than a cab. Although he spent the whole time on his monile phone.
I would stay in this hotel again, especially for its location.
