2We had a mixup with our flight out of Rome and had to spend another night. Mistake one was to go to Margana Travel at the airport for transportation into Rome and to get a hotel until the next day. We said that we wanted to stay at the Marriott in Rome (we had stayed there before) because we wanted at least a 4 star hotel and a gym The woman at the airort highly recommended the Palladium and said it was comparable to the Marriott but cheaper in price. She said it was in a great location, had lovely rooms, was 4 star and had a gym. The room was clean, but was dingy, very tiny, poor air conditioning, and had a hard bed (this was presented as a deluxe room). Also, we were in the front of the hotel and it was very noisey during the night. When we left the hotel out to the right, we were advised by a few people to stay away from the train station (2 blocks away) because it was quite seedy and there was a big problem with crime. My biggest problem with this hotel is it's misrepresentation as a 4 star. They must know the person who "gives out the stars". Earlier in the week we stayed at some very nice 4 star hotels in Rome. We were duped and learned our lesson.
