Grand Hotel Beverly Hills - Rome, Italy

Upon arrival for our six night stay we were told that they were overbooked for one night only, due to soccer matches and that we were to go to another hotel, also four star. All transfers were paid, the other hotel expected us and was located better to see the ancient sights. Upon our check-in the next day we were pleased to find our 7th floor room clean and comfortable. Yes, the bath was small but it had a bathtub!! If you have children or prefer baths to showers this is a big plus in Rome. The hotel was also quiet at night. All of the staff were friendly and ready to serve. The maid staff even tucked in my daughters teddy each day! The location seems distant to many of the sights in the Rome but we found walking through the park surrounding the Villa Borghese relaxing compared to the hustle, sounds and smells of the streets. We would definitely consider staying here again.

We were on a Globus tour and stay here. There were 3 other tours that were staying at the same time. 90% people staying there are on tours. Our room was 206. The room was small, The bathroom was a mess, there was mold on the sink and the bath tub and no room to move around. Our room was facing an alley, and all night long we were awoken by trucks, emtying out the tumbsters. The hotel is far from any of the attactions, it cost 12 euros every time we took a cab.<br><br>The staff at the front desk were helpful. The breakfast was good, but they wouldnt let you take any food or coffee out of the breakfast area.<br><br>Be careful about the bar in your room. It is not marked as such and if you open the door you get charged for it.

Coming from Los Angeles and having booked this as part of a tour it was interesting to have a hotel called Beverly Hills. I felt I had to respong to some other reviewers of this hotel. I had none of the noise mentioned. And whether the room was small or large didn't affect me. I am a tourist and here to see Rome, not sit in a plush hotel. A couple guests and I walked comfortably throughout all of Rome's attractions in a very enjoyable "loop" stopping for lunch mid-day around the Pantheon/Trevi fountain area. At the end we had tired legs ad opted for an easy taxi ride back to he hotel, about ten minutes and only about $6 each. The meals we had in-house were fine and the bar was nice and relaxing. While the roms we had were probably on their lower-end since it was booked as a group tour. But ike I said, we were there to see Rome, not the hotel.
