I visited Rome in June with my 15 year old son and booked this hotel having read the trip advisor reviews. I am glad Idid, and would definitely recommend it and stay there again. It is in a good location, walking distance from main train station, ideal as a base for Romes's attractions, the room was bigger than I expected for Rome city cente and breakfast was very good too. The complimentary mini bar stocked each evening with cool drinks was very welcome after a long hot day of sight seeing.

Selected the Hotel Artemide based on the Trip Advisor reviews and it is as good as everyone says. We booked a triple and were upgraded to a mini-suite, which was really spacious. Plenty of room for the three of us and the mountain of luggage we had since this was the last stop after three weeks in Europe. The bathroom was huge. The beds are typically European (i.e. hard), but the linens are soft, the room is immaculately clean and the bathroom is huge. The minibar is truly free and is restocked every day. It was 100 degrees F during our whole stay and we pretty much emptied it of water, soda and beer daily. We were given free Asti Spumante in the bar as well. The breakfast buffet is generous and much more varied than most European breakfasts and is also included. Also included is fifteen minutes a day of internet on the computer in the lobby. The air-conditioning struggled a little to overcome the heat, but did succeed. The only disappointment was that the roof terrace was not yet open (in July?) The location is very convenient, one block from the Metro which zips you right to the Spanish Steps or the Vatican. The Trevi Fountain is an easy walk, the Forum is a longer one, but scenic. You can also easily take the Metro to the Colosseum. The restaurants in the area were rather disappointing, but maybe we just picked the wrong ones. One great find was the National Roman Museum, which is just a few blocks away right off Piazza Republica, near Termini station. It contains amazing exhibits of Roman mosaics, frescos, sculpture, jewelry and coins. It is not a usual tourist spot and very uncrowded. We just wandered in one day around five and stayed until closing. It is amazing. Be sure to check it out.
