Pinewood Hotel Rome - Rome, Italy

We stayed at the Pinewood in January 2007 - overall the hotel was good and what you would expect from a 3 Star Hotel - the rooms were clean and well kept, the en-suite bathroom was excellent with a great shower and Jacuzzi bath. The hotel itself was also clean and tidy, and the staff were helpful enough and spoke good English. The main down point was the location - it was a bit 'out in the sticks', and although it was only a short walk (5 minutes approx.) to the Metro (which was only 6 stops or so from Spagna) the area between the hotel and the station was a bit on the rough side, and a lady on her own might perhaps feel a bit intimidated. Also, there wasn't any restaurants of note near the hotel - you are better off getting the Metro or a taxi ride (max 18 euro's to the historic City Centre). Overall though, the hotel is a adequate enough holiday base - you do get more for your money when staying further from the centre, but when I return I think I will look opt for a more central location.

+ :Great staff, very helpful for info on getting to tourist attractions, calling us a taxi when we needed, and restaurant recommendations around the area! - :Air-conditioning broke down on the entire floor we were staying in on the night we arrived so had to be moved around a few times until it was fixed...but they were very apologetic and nice about it! location also a bit far from the centre...but manageable and satisfactory considering the reasonable price for a room in a 4* place.

I have been with my family , 4 persons and booked a suite family room directly on the home page of the hotel. we had a two room accomodation with jacuzzi idromassage bath tub. room with air cond., tel, mini bar, tel. and sat TV. a balcony with a view directly to the pinewood in front of the hotel. the location is ideal, quite and not so far from the vatican. there is a private parking place. the staff is very attentive and can give good suggestion for visiting the City. we had a good time in Rome thanks to the staff of pinewood hotel rome. we will suggest this hotel to all our friends.
