PROS: Clean rooms; hair conditioning works well; very nice and helpful staff (English speakers); breakfast in room; walking distance from a lot of tourist attractions (the Vatican, Piazza Navona, Pantheon, etc). CONS: No wifi internet in rooms (inspite being advertised as available); noise from the outside (Corso Vittorio Emanuelle is a very busy avenue). Hotel owners should seriously consider installing double windows in rooms.

The location of this hotel is excellent - within walking distance of all the main tourist sites. The room was large and we were pleasantly surprised by the size of the bathroom (after reading reviews from many other Rome hotels). There was always hot water for showers, the cubicle was spaceous and had a good power shower. There was also a hairdryer on the wall and fluffy towels. Breakfast was served in our room which consisted of tea or coffee, pain au chocolat, croissants, small rolls, melba toast, jam/butter/marmalade/honey. It was a bit too sweet, and not helped by dusting the croissants with icing sugar!! Another critisism was that the tea wasn't always hot enough. Nonetheless it was filling enough. There was also the choice of cold meats, cheeses, orange juice, scrambled egg, bacon at an extra cost. A small glass of OJ was 3 euros and it wasn't that nice. There is a small supermarket accross the road where we bought a carton of fruit juice for half the price. The room came with air con which was great and wasn't too noisy. A minibar which was very useful for using for our own drinks/food. An LCD tv which was great but didn't have many engish speaking channels - MTV, BBC World News, CNN, and one or two others depending on time of day. A safe which was useful. The front desk was manned 24 hours and all staff were friendly. Most staff spoke good English. I must say that there are a flight of steps to climb to reach the hotel and we didn't have a hand with our suitcase. But we didn't ask for one anyway. The hotel may be difficult to find without a map/local knowledge. We were lucky that I had written down the address to show the taxi driver who found it straight away. There is ony a small brass plaque on the outside to indicate where the hotel is. To enter we had to press a buzzer, and the staff unlocked the huge front entrance door to the courtyard. From there it is ahead, then turn right - not very well marked. The outside doors are locked on weekends and
