We stayed here our last night of our honeymoon in room, becasue it was a short walk from the train station. It was small, clean, and satisfactory. Recpetion staff was okay, a little cold. Were pretty sure she hates her job. There is a small lift to take you up stairs. Breakfast was ok, the usual cold continiental. This hotel is located overtop of a bar, and it depends where you are in the hotel, that affects your sleep. We didnt make out too bad, but we could hear the remnants of 100 italians singing YMCA until 2 am in the morning. So if you have small children, or are old, and need some heavy duty beauty sleep, save your coin. The only other issue i had was thier towels. Picture a regular tea towel that would use for your dishes, but make it the same size as a bath towel, and thats it. It leaves alot to be desired......

just got back from a five day break in rome, Ann and i stayed at the Stella Hotel in 51 Castel fidardo which is to the north of Termini station. ( 5 min walk) the hotel was basic b&b but very clean, our room was at the rear of the hotel so we did not hear the bar which is next to the hotel and is open till 2am. the Termini station is very much a culture shock with numerous homeless sleeping rough in phone booths e.t.c. but it is the best place to get bus tours. one such tour is the hop on hop off. this costs 19 euros but is well worth it covering every major attraction in the heart of Rome, costs in cafes & restaurants can come as a bit of a shock so have plenty money with you. Rome is an awe inspiring city but keep your guard up at all times. on the 175 bus coming back from the Pantheon i began to feel uneasy about the close proximity of a man in his mid 30s who had jumped off the bus but boarded again at the rear door. on looking down i saw his hand trying to relieve me of my wallet from my front pocket, i think he was somewhat taken aback when i grabbed him by the throat and started shouting thief. he very quickly got off the bus. all in all a good experience and something to remember, i have never taken so many pics whlie on holiday. please enjoy this beautiful city but be cautious. steve & ann
