3.6The hotel was in a very nice neighborhood close to the Spanish Steps, Piazza del Popolos and the Trevi Fountain. We felt very safe walking around at night. The rooms were spacious and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast is so-so. What was awful was the smell of someone smoking, coming through the vent. This happened at night, from 10pm to 1am. I guess people came back to the hotel and smoked, and the smell got carried through the vent and into our room. (Bathroom doesn't have a fan but a constant venting system) When I called the front desk about it, not knowing how it happened, he was not sympathetic but said he couldn't do anything about it. He said there is no smoking only in the public area but people could smoke in the rooms--that explained why there were ash trays in the room. I specifically asked for a non-smoking room. I couldn't do anything to stop the smell from coming into our room.
The people who worked at the front desk was not warm at all. They talked you with a stoic face and gave you short answers. Not very helpful at all. If you get put off by that, I don't recommend this hotel.
this was the only place in our Italy trip that offered free computer use with internet
