We stayed at Coronari as two couples. The place was well located and as advertised. About 12 euro in a cab from termini so very easy. The street it is on is quite narrow though, and not a major road. We were happy with our choice, rooms were quiet and facilities good. Owner speaks english and was prompt and helpful. Our only gripe was the shower stall was a bit tacky. Open stairs to upper bedroom would not suit some, and yes there are a lot of stairs to the apartment. We would stay here again.

Residenza Canali is a small hotel located on a relatively quiet side street in the heart of Rome. The hotel is within walking distance of virtually every major attraction in Rome, such as the Vatican, Forum, Coliseum, etc. There are also myriad restaurants and shops in this relatively upscale neighborhood. There is a taxi stand less than a block away and major bus routes within a few blocks, as well. The public areas of the hotel as well as the rooms have a considerable amount of charm. The hotel is very clean and well-maintained. There is a computer in the lobby for guest use. The hotel is air-conditioned and non-smoking. The staff is exceptionally helpful and friendly, and most speak English with a reasonable degree of fluency. They gladly made reservations for many of our planned activities, as well as some of our transportation within Rome without complaint (or charge). The atmosphere is very laid-back and appeared welcoming to guests of all ages. The bedrooms are a bit on the small side, but adequate and nicely appointed. The bathrooms are very nice. Our two rooms had showers and bidets, but not bathtubs. Noise from adjoining rooms is minimal. Breakfasts are very good. I highly recommend this hotel. If you are looking for a user-friendly, charming small hotel in central Rome, this hotel is a worthy choice.

After reading all the positive reviews about the Residenza Canali on this website, my family of 5 decided to give them a try. After a nice drive in from Florence, we pulled onto the street where the hotel is located. The hotel itself is kind of hard to locate even with a GPS. After pulling over down the narrow street, an irrate taxi driver came out to let me know his feelings. Since I had no clue what he was saying, i managed to drop off my family and find a place to temporarily park. After this screaming driver brought most of the shop owners out to see the problem, Stefano from the hotel came out and quickly de-escalated the situtation. I told him that i still have to return the car to the rental and had no idea where it's located. Even though i had the directions to the rental location, it had almost 30 steps to go a whopping 2 miles! Stefano said that he would drive with me to drop off the car and we would take a cab back. Within the hour, the mission was accomplished. The return company was in a underground lot, and there was no way in hell that i would have found it. Words cannot explain the relief that i had upon our return. As it turned out, Stefano was so polite, helpful, funny and considerate, we quickly developed a neat friendship, my family and Stefano, In fact, we all wanted him to join us for dinner the following day. Stefano graciously accepted and i will say that it was one of the high lights of our 3 week trip. He made sure that everything was taken care of and in order for us. You talk about someone who went the extra mile (or two). Even though we had the most contact with Stefano, all the employees were very helpful and friendly. They spoke English well too. We left Rome with such smiles and laughter and it was because of Stefano. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone. The location is great as you've probably already read, the price is right, the room was nice, but what separates this was the service. We will always remember Stefano and how he added to the enjoyment of our vacation. Dave Z (USA - Michigan)
