Oh my gosh! As soon as we (me and my husband, and we had just gotten married) arrived to the hotel lobby, i felt like "WHAT HAVE I DONE! " I mean, it looked so much better on the Internet and it was me who chose it. We knew that this hotel wouldn?t be THAT great, but according to the pictures we saw from the Ryanair website, it looked like an okey place to stay. I felt an instant dislike and as if i had been cheated in to staying there. The information they gave on the webbsite (and the booklet) was very far from the reality of things.
1) The first thing i noticed was the old and shabby interiour of the lobby and it smelled like it was a home of heavy smokers. At this point i still had hope that maybe the room is okey...And guess what. As soon as i entered the room, i started to CRY. The room looked horrible. I had never been in a hotel room more boring and ugly than the one at Telstar. There was not a single decorating object in the room - no paintings, no curtains, no shower-curtain, ugly tiled floor and old metal beds with madras and only sheets on it. The towels were like kitchen towels, only bigger size. And it was really warm and no AC...It felt like we had come to a Sovjet Young Communist Summer camp...
And the sea-view that was promissed according to the website ( every room was supposte to have a seaview) could only be acchived by leaning out from the hotel balcony and looking to the right... Even we came there in beliefe that the hotel was on the beach, but that was not true.
2) The breakfast was not that great either, but one learns to mix things and survive. They served a lot of white bread with butter, different kind of marmelades, cheese, ham, two kinds of sweet cakes, croissants, roasted dry bread, cornflakes and warm and not-so-cold-
milk. That was pretty much it + disgustingly sweet juice, coffe and hot chocolate from a machine (we had to pour water in everything we drank to survive)...We didn?t eat any other meals at their place and we were not tempted either.
Ah, teher were so many things....I am not a mean person, but i really feel like we were misguided by the false information we got from the website. If we would have known the truth, we would have never stayed there.
This hotel should be shut down either for good or for some proper renovation or change it?s name to youth hostel or something like that. That place is not worth 3 stars. The only good thing i have to say is that the staff was always smiling and nice towards us, but that doesn?t compansate anything.
Don?t stay there unless you totally don?t care how the place looks like. We were very dissapointed.
P.S. We wanted to change the hotel, but you won?t get any refund, so we were forced to stay there...
