Please take note that I have spent only one night at Ambienthotels Villa Adriatica 31th of may to 1st of June. The day before I was by mistake at Hotel President, via Tripoli 276 hence may I kindly ask you as Villa Adriatica request to apply the involved commission separately.
Both Hotel were clean and good located, personally I would recommend to book at villa Adriatica grand staff will welcome you.
I travelled with my wife and 2 year old daughter.
Overall - great position, helpful and friendly staff, but disappointing room and I would say it's a 3-Star hotel, not 4-Star.
I booked an Excelsior room based on the really nice photos on the website, but to be honest the room wasn't as good as the photos in fact I would say the photos were quite misleading. For a hotel advertised as 4-star, the bathroom was very small with no bath, only a shower (not very good when you've got a young child). Also, while some of the fittings were good quality, it looked like they'd chosen to only update parts of the room, so for example, the wardrobes were really old and in a bad condition, but the beds seemed new and the sheets, pillows, etc. were all very nice.
The position of the hotel is excellent and it's easy to walk everywhere from there (beach is 3-4 mins) and the hotel staff were all very nice and helpful. English isn't one of their main languages (more French, German and Russian guests), but we never had a problem.
The swimming pool was quite nice and very clean, but we never found the children's swimming pool that was advertised and there isn't any shallow area for young children.
We went in the middle of September and the weather was great, but we noticed that a few restaurants and bars were already closing for the winter, so I wouldn't recommend going any later than we did. The beach was virtually empty during the week which was great for our daughter and the sea was still warm enough for us to paddle in.
Being the only Brits in the hotel seemed alienating enough, but we also seemed to be the only Brits in the whole resort of Rimini. But don't let that put you off what is a good place to relax and get a tan if that's what you're after. Don't expect anything more than pasta, pizza or seafood at any of the restaurants, and be prepared to pay quite expensive prices for drinks although the measures are worth it.
You have to pay to use sunbeds on the beach unless you walk further down near the Grand Hotel to the free part which is more spacious anyway.
I would recommend Rimini if you know a little Italian otherwise you will struggle to be understood, and be prepared to travel to the next town of Riccione (30 mins on bus) to get decent clubs. There are a few in Rimini, namely Coconuts, Turquoise and The Barge all next to each other near the Port which are all ok.
I had no complaints about this hotel, it is clean and the staff are friendly.
