My husband and I just came back from staying in Positano at the Punta Regina. We stayed their six nights. The hotel was beautiful and very clean! We enjoyed the fantastic view from our own private terrace. There is also a rooftop terrace for breakfast and cocktails. The staff of Gianluigi Scala, Benedetta, Michela, and Giuseppina were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our conversations with them throughout our vacation. They offered helpful suggestions on where to travel to during our stay. You will not regret staying at the Punta Regina!

Just returned from beautiful Positano and the elegant and comfortable Albergo Punta Regina. A family of four, we had a 3rd floor room with magnificent views. Our balcony was a good place to watch the sea and sky and our room even for four was large and beautifully appointed. Lovely bathroom, towels and linens unusually luxurious with bathtowels replaced all day long. The hotel was spotless and lovely in public areas and it was a delight every day to climb the stairs to the terrace and our morning cappuccinos. Very good continental breakfast with Gian Luigi ready with a smile and good advice for putting together another perfect day in Positano. Also suppled were large beach towels in a handy waterproof carry bag, which was a great convenience as we were out on the sea and swimming nearly every day of our 8-day stay.
Touring Capri, Pompeii, Amalfi and Ravello were wonderful. The hotel arranged it all for us.
We had extremely hot weather, in the 90s every day. Walking up and down throughout Positano was alot of work but the views everywhere are so breathtaking.... plus it helped to work off all the amazing food and the quantities of wine and rosoli we drank every night.
Local beaches were hot and crowded. Take a boat tour to see the fabled coast of Capri, rent kayaks and float around the grottoes and caves near the Positano beaches. Between positano and praiano was the most spectacular coast with rocks for diving and swimming but we swam twice at Li Galli, the islands just off the coast : heaven. Huge underwater cliffs dropping away underneath you. Bring swim goggles to really see the view.
The hotel is in a perfect location, up from the business and noise of the beach but not so far up that you need to take a bus. The buses were reliable and convenient but always bursting at the seams with passengers and if it was 90 outside it was 100+ in the buses.
Overall it was a fabulous week in a magical place. Hotel staff were wonderful. Michaela, Josefina and of course Gian Luigi took great care of us. Our one small complaint is that it would have been nice to have a pool on the hotel terrace, given the weather was so roasting and the beach no easy jog away.
Many great restaurants a stones' throw away, and bars too. It's hard to get a bad meal!
Up in the hills in Montepertusso is a great family place; La Tataglia; no menu, just course after course after course arriving at your table. For 30 euros apiece it's quite an experience.
