Hotel Reginella is one of the few places in Positano (and Italy in general) that can accommodate a family of 5. The Hotel room we booked was on the top floor. It had a double bed and 3 singles. The mattresses were hard or lumpy but that seems to be the norm in Italy. It had a lovely bathroom and the balcony was small but the views were marvellous. Breakfast was included in our booking and was quite good. You could have toast, croissant, various spreads, tea or coffee and the kids had hot cocoa. The staff were reserved but friendly I guess. They organised a minivan to take us to Rome airport the next day. It was expensive but saved us so much time and energy given the struggle we would have had with all the luggage & the kids catching unpredictable public transport. Our only problem resulted from actually getting there. We got off the train coming from Sicily at Salerno. We waited for the bus to Amalfi and then had to get off and scramble onto another bus to Positano. The bus was packed & getting on was a bit cut throat for us & the kids. We missed the earlier bus to Positano b/c we got delayed B/c a tourist bus got stuck on the narrow road. Our bus couldnt get past! It was night by the time we got to Positano we had no idea where to get off & hoped the bus driver was going to tell us. He did remember but it was a very long walk from the stop with all our luggage. It was quite a low point. Later we found out it was the right stop b/c the 2nd stop was actually further & would have been more treacherous with bags b/c it had virtually no footpath.
