We stayed in Positano over Easter. The weather was terrible which was a shame. This hotel is very nice. The staff are friendly and helpful and can help you with car hire, bus timetables, trains etc etc The rooms have a balcony or terrace overlooking the ocean WAY below. they are simply decorated with white walls and ceramic tiled floors. There is an air con until altho I had to have the heating on as the weather was so bad. We ate in the restaurant the first night. A 3 course meal with a beer came to about 35 euros each which we thought was expensive but turned out to be better quality and value for money than a meal in one of the beachside restaurants the following night. And then there are the step: 100 of them ( we counted) and the steep slopes - but thats the nature of Positano, you can't escape it! We travelled mainly by bus. Buses to Amalfi or Sorrento stop on the top road which meant a 15 min uphill walk (not fun with luggage) you could get the inter positano bus which stops at the bottom of the steps of the hotel but takes a furth 20 mins to drive round to the us stop. It only passes once every 30 mins so we found it quicker to walk. We enjoyed the Amalfi coast despite the weather and will probably return to the hotellater in the year in the hope the weather is better.
