We booked L'ea Bianca as we wanted a very special location for our honeymoon and wanted luxury with the location being close to a beach.
When we arrived (the signage for the hotel is terrible and we got lost trying to find the hotel) we were pleased with the initial look of the hotel although it did appear to have a concrete feel and not the whitewashed finish a lot of resorts have today. When entering our room we were told we have receieved a free upgrade to a junior suite. However their description of a junior suite consists of a room with a small sofa in the corner! Very disappointing. The small balcony was covered in foliage which attracted flies and give the place an unclean feel.
Benefit of the doubt - the pool looked amazing (but very cold) and the restaurant was classed as one of the best in the area so we were itching to have our evening meal (we were booked half board). A decent bottle of wine set us back ?50 and the drinks were so expensive we'd have been bankrupt if we'd have stayed longer than we did.
On our second day both myself and my husband were ill, my sickness seemed to clear up fairly quickly but my husband was knocked off his feet for 24 hours with severe sickness and diahorrea. The following day he made a fairly good recovery and we decided to eat again in the restaurant that evening. During the night he again came down with the same symptoms and this time was very ill. Hours later upon flushing the toilet, he found there was no water....a predicament not good for someone with stomach problems. I was advised by the concierge that the whole hotel had no water supply and this had happened the previous month.
To cut a long story short after calling a doctor and recovering we decided to get the next flight home. Everyone either of us ate in their restaurant we either felt nauseous or came down with stomach problems. There were flies all over the restaurant and the only way to describe the place was that the whole place seemed to be holding a false front.
We spent (and lost) ?5K on our honeymoon and I would seriously recommend anyone considering it to not be fooled. The beach is awful and there was a load of rubbish on the walk down to it just outside the gate to the hotel, the food was not up to standard, the rooms were very poor and the location is not great unless you are happy to drive everywhere.
All in all a terrible holiday...would not recommend

Beautiful newly created hotel, 10 minutes north of Porto Cervo. Pluses include well appointed bedrooms (ours had a great garden overlooking the park and the pool), fantastic food, beautiful garden and great swimming pool. Location is also very convenient for Porto Cerco and Loco Rotondo. On the negative, the beach is not amazing, it's pretty expensive and the spa is still under construction. Overall we still had a great time and rented a car to take advantage ofNorthern Sardinia's stunning beaches (all at an easy 10/15 drive). Staff was extremely nice and accomodating. A great found !
