For a value for money stay in what is unquestionably the world's most fashionable spot in late July and August, the Hotel Luci Di La Muntagna cannot be beaten. Go for a complete package as the restaurant cooks up fine food. Be sure to ask for a quiet room as there are some noisy air conditioning units around!

This hotel is not cheap but probably represents good value in Port Cervo which is generally expensive. We chose a room with a 'mountain view' which was a substantial saving on a room with a sea view and the room was large with a king size four poster bed, a large bathroom with a bath and shower and double sink, a wall mounted flat screen TV, air conditioning and ample space and a private enclosed courtyard ( there was no view but the privacy and quietness made up for it ; it is room 218) .The room was quiet and peaceful. You can still enjoy the fantastic views of the marina, sea and mountains from the hotels two terraces, one of which is the restaurant. The standard of cleanliness was high and the decor was tasteful.
The reception staff were approachable, friendly and helpful as were the restaurant and bar staff and service was good.
The pool area was very peaceful and relaxing, again with lovely views of the marina and surroundings and pool staff were pleasant and helpful. The pool was a reasonable size and depth and very clean as were the surroundings and gardens. My only comment would be that there needs to be more parasols at the pool side.
The breakfasts were good, with a wide choice ( though the fruit is tinned) and the pastries were excellent.
I would recommend this hotel for a relaxing and peaceful holiday and I certainly think it offers good value for money in a place like Porto Cervo, though it is possibly not suitable for families with small children or young teenagers. It is fairly central to the facilities but going to the marina or town square does involve some hill walking; its position offers spectacular views, the activities on the marina are fascinating. If I returned to Porto Cervo I would stay here again.
