Via Spinuzza has some great bars including Drinkeria on Cavour and excellent restaurant suggestions.

There are a lot of stairs to go up to the hotel especially you have young children and just buy a pair of ear plugs in the pharmacy on the same road. Staff can not speak English so may be difficult to get enough information.
