Residenza d'Aragona - Palermo, Italy     

This hotel was somewhat difficult to find and none of the locals had ever heard of it as it is tucked out the way on a side street. The room was very spacious and like many of the other reviewers we also had a very large room with balconies, a living room and a large bathroom and hallway so this must be the norm. The reception staff weren't overly helpful but not rude either.

My partner & i throughly enjoyed our time in the apartment, it was large, clean & in searing heat it was cool with the marble floors & air conditioning. It really is more apartment rentals than a hotel, with a simple but ample breakfast. We paid extra to use the kitchen facilites ( plates, pots & pans etc) which was worth it because we then bought fresh fish & shell fish from the markets! There are loads of wonderful shops at the bottom of the road & a really great cafe/ restaurant just round the corner. Its position is great & it certainly isnt in a dodgy area, far from it. We found the staff polite & helpful when asked, not alot of smiling but then that goes for all Sicilians in the service industry wherever you go, its nothing personal! All in all we would give the place 10/10 remembering you get what you pay for, its not perfect but its perfect value for money.
