The refined style of palaces and churches are a counterpoint to the popular nature of the markets (Vucciria, Capo, Ballarò, Borgo Vecchio) and the narrow streets with a succession of alleys and suggestive corners. Just as pleasant are the strolls by shops and boutiques of Via Ruggiero VII and Via della Libertà. As soon as you are out of the city you may enjoy the beautiful beaches of Mondello, the splendid Duomo di Monreale and the Natural Reserve of Monte Pellegrino.
