Location
Schilizzi Hotel organises tours of the most important sites in Naples: the ruins of Pompei, the Amalfi coast, Sorrento, the island of Capri and its wonderful light-blu cave.
The Schilizzi Hotel is located just 2 minutes walking from Piazza Plebiscito one of the most beautiful squares in Europe where concerts and shows are organized. In 5 minutes you reach the Duomo where every year in September Saint Gennaro makes the famous miracle.
Close to the hotel, there are many restaurants and bars, where you can taste some good local dishes of the typical cuisine, such as the Pizza or some cakes. If you are a lover of art, you can visit the museum, but we suggest you to discover the beauty of the entire coast. From the pier, not far from the hotel, there are many boats, during the entire day, to Capri, Procida or to Amalfi and Sorrento

During our visit to the Amalfi coast in July 2005, six of us charted a yacht for a week form a company based in the port of Naples. We stayed at the Hotel Schilizzi for two nights on either side of our trip. I happened to find it on the internet. This is wonderful little boutique hotel and just a five minute walk from the major port in Naples. I believe it is either gay or at least gay friendly as many of the staff seem to be queer. The owner serves coffee and breakfast each morning in a charming little alcove off the reception area.
The rooms are extremely quiet, clean and spacious with contemporary and well-functioning bathrooms. The air conditioner worked better than any other I've experienced in Europe. Our room had a little terrace that overlooked the street. The neighborhood is a bit sketchy at night but certainly not unsafe. Even in the early hours of the morning, there was alway activity in the neighborhood. As in any large city, be cautious when walking around at night.
The hotel desk staff was very friendly and helpful giving us directions and suggestions during our stay in Naples. They even arranged a mini van with driver to take the group of us to Pompei. If back in Naples, I would definitely stay here again.
