Hotel De La Ville - Milano, Italy     

Was looking forward to the De La Ville having previously stayed in the Rosa several times liking a very central hotel, first impressions on arriving were of a very cramped reception area that could not really accommodate the people checking in. We checked in and the room was ok, nothing to write home about bar being noisy, air conditioning also did not work. We had read that the hotel had two bars but it turned out one was in the restaurant annexed to the hotel, the main bar was very badly run and atmosphereless, the breakfast incuded frazzled bacon anda poor selection of fruit juices, all together a disappointing experience. Location si good but nothing else in our experience.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights. The check in was welcoming but chaotic but loving the Italians I enjoyed that part too:-) The rooms are small as they are often in the old city centres. Furniture is in a classic style but the room was sunny and clean and most of what you want to have is there.. The location of this hotel is great: close to the Duomo (300 m) as well as La Scala (also something like that) and Via Montenapoleone is perhaps 200 m! The hotel has a pool, which is small but lovely. We never had breakfast in the hotel but did so in the places nearby. The concierge arranged dinner reservations at Nobu and we had a great table on a very busy evening.
