We were in The Westin Palace Milan one year ago, and we booked a Suit with the Living room, was 1120 the room and 1121 the living room very beautiful with a marvelous furniture and views, was excellent. This time in June 2008 we were there for the fashion week , and we booked a double room 5 months before. When we arrived to the hotel they gave to us the living room 1121 as a double room. The Westin Palace Milan put one horrible bed in the living room 1121 that we stayed one year before and we used to dinner several nights. When we asked to change the room at the front desk, one girl called Antonella, said that the hotel was full, and that was the only available room. I think that sale a living room as a room is ilegal, if the hotel is full they dont have to sale any other rooms or living rooms. Defintly this have been the worse hotel that I never have stayed. And we never again will give any reference of this company, STARWOOD!!! STARWORSE!!!

Needs refurbishment and better service

This hotel was a big disappointment. At check-in I was greeted by a polite and cheerful front desk agent but on going upstairs found I had been given a twin room. I immediately called down to ask to change to a double room but they said the hotel was "full" and offered to have housekeeping move the two single beds out of my room and a double bed in (at 10:30pm after a long days work and travel)! That seemed a strange suggestion and I wanted to rest, so declined. The room was dilapidated and badly in need of refurbishment, with the marble clad bathroom the best furnished part. My room was close to conference rooms, meaning it was noisy from voices and scraping of chairs early into the morning (I never found out what was going on at that time and they couldn't provide an answer at check out). Room service was a complete joke. The prices are high and I ordered a dish from the so called "a la carte" menu. What arrived was a shambolic excuse for a meal that any real chef would be embarrassed to serve up - it was reminiscent of something microwaved from frozen out of a packet. I can only assume they wanted to go home early, because I placed my order at 10:30pm (and was warned the kitchen would close “in 5 minutes” - even though the full room service menu is supposed to run until 11pm). The room service waiter was surly and basically unfriendly. I also had breakfast in the room, and it wasn't long before the waiter came back knocking on the door to collect the cart. I told him to come back later, but he kept knocking and so I finally just let him take it to avoid any more interruptions. A note for any Starwood Preferred Guest members, I didn't receive any benefits from being a member here. I would definitely stay somewhere else next time I visit Milan.
