Hotel Excelsior Dusseldorf - Dusseldorf, Germany 

As a regular visit to Düsseldorf I have stayed at the Excelsior on a number of occasions and can very much recommend it. The hotel is very well located, about 10 minutes easy walk from the city centre, or very close to the Nordstrasse U-Bahn station if you don't want to walk, and also very near to the plentiful restaurants and bars of the Nordstrasse area. The rooms are very well kept and the staff are exceptionally helpful and friendly - even upgrading me to a suite on occasions as a regular customer. The breakfast buffet is plentify, well varied and of good quality. I guess the only tiny criticism I could make is that in some of the rooms I've stayed in the fittings are maybe starting to look very slightly tired, but this is really not a major point.

Wir haben gegen Ende März ein Wochenende im Excelsior Hotel verbracht. Am Empfang ist man freundlich und hilfsbereit, das trifft auch auf alle anderen Hotelangestellten zu. Unser Zimmer war geräumig, hell und es war das vermutlich sauberste Hotelzimmer in dem ich je gewesen bin. Die Handtücher und Bettwäsche wurden täglich gewechselt und das Zimmermädchen kam noch einmal zurück, wenn wir länger geschlafen hatten. Das Frühstück war reichhaltig, es gab eine riesige Auswahl an warmen und kalten Speisen. Das Hotel ist nicht modern aber es gibt einem ein traditionelles und heimeliges Gefühl. Es ist in idealer Lage in der Altstadt und am Rhein, dabei trotzdem noch weit genug davon entfernt, sodass man nachts sehr friedlich schlafen kann, der beste Schlaf, den ich seit langer Zeit in einem Hotel bekommen habe. Würde es jedem empfehlen, selbst denjenigen, die normalerweise in einem Hotel mit mehr Sternen unterkommen.
