Location

We are located in florentine chianti shire, 22 km from florence, 8 from greve in chianti, straight ahead from A1 exit (17,300 km) in a little village called "passo dei pecorai". easy to arrive, just dl and follow the map.

Rooms

The hotel is comprised of 11 rooms, including a single room without bathroom (private bath in front of the room), 3 double rooms (with shower cabin and toilet on the same floor) and 7 rooms with fully equipped bathrooms.

There is also a residence comprised of 7 apartments, all fully furnished with independent boilers for heating and hot water. These include linen, sheets, towels and daily cleaning. There are different arrangements of beds for couples, friends and families.

The majority of rooms and apartments are located in the 17th century building. Please be aware that this means the focus is on historic charm and atmosphere rather than contemporary luxury. Apartments and rooms are the same size, though the apartments include a kitchen. Both are equipped with some original, restored furniture. Some important pieces are included, like the closet in room 16, with its Louis XVI style. You might also find original wrought-ironwork. All also include some modern furniture for your comfort.

All rooms and apartment have 2 keys: one for the room itself and one for your private entrance. After check-in, keep your key with you and you can return direct to your apartment whenever you like. Reception is normally open from 08:00 till around 22:00. If for any reason it is closed, this means that the hotel is full or the reception has moved to the bar, which closes later.

To eat at the Casprini da Omero restaurant is to experience the traditional Florentine and Chianti cuisine. The ancient recipes of the Casprini family are used, following the seasons. Fresh organic food gives you a taste of the country.

For starters, only traditional Artisanal pasta, along with that of a local producer, is used. Taste the original crespelle al la Fiorentina, or ravioli with truffles and mushrooms; or better still the pappardelle with wild boar or rabbit sauce.

For the main course, you might try a Florentine steak cooked over a real fire, like the other traditional dishes available such as pork, rabbit, chicken and lamb.

All desserts are also homemade, with the famous Anna's cookies or torta della nonna, pecorino and contognata al la Fiorentina (home made jam), tiramisù and Anna's "torta della nonna.

At Casprini's, only traditional Chiantis are served from the wine cellar, where 32,000 bottles (dating back to 1911) are available. This is believed to be the biggest collection of drinkable Chianti wine in existence.

Working with a traditional and real fire means that preparing good dishes takes time, so please be patient. The restaurant is open every day except Wednesday, from 12:00 to 14:00 and 19:00 to 21:30/22:00 (summer months).
