Have travelled on three occasions to Pescara, 2005/2006/2007, and have always stayed at The Regent. For the money our party of eight payed, we were more than happy with the hotel. OK it's not The Waldorf!, but more then adequate, friendly, helpful staff, clean rooms, great position for the beach, and a pleasant walk to the Bars and Restaurants in the centre of the old town. Will definitely stay there again

We were very disappointed with this hotel and so were the people that we were travelling with. This is definetly not a three star hotel, more like a 2 star hotel. It is in need a renovation, additional lighting and maintenance. We didn't like the following: Location: Although it is realtively close to the beach, you must cross a busy 4 lane road to get to the stabiliments (beach areas) which are blocked off by fencing. This road is quite busy and noisy. You are located south of the main area of Pescara. So, for shopping, piazzas and such, one much walk, bus or taxi quite a distance. You also can't walk north very far along the beach because you reach the harbour. Tip: If it's beach you are after try some of the towns near Pescara, like Silvi Marina. There you can stay righ on the beach (no crossing roads or anything) for less cost. Tip: We saw more action walking south from the hotel, rather than going North. It seemed a lot of people were out and about late at night as there were some clubs and cafes open late south of the hotel. Rooms: We didn't find the hotel rooms overly comfortable. The TV remote didn't work and the front desk couldn't accomodate with another remote. The rooms were tired and old. Although relatively clean, the bathroom was very modern. The shower was very small. Many people in our group also didn't have water for a few days. I believe this was a Pescara wide problem but it still didn't add to the experience. People on the 1st floor always had water, however. Also, we were left without hot water on a few occasions as well. We also thought the hotel rooms were quite noisy and one could hear a lot of noise in the hallway. The beds were fairly uncomfortable as well and the bed spreads appeared dirty and old. Many people in our tour group had similar experiences. Food: The food at this hotel (breakfasts and dinners) didn't impress us very much as compared to other 3 star hotels in Italy. All in all, this wasn't a great hotel. There's a reason it costs so little for being in such close proximity to the beach. The hotel website photographs are not representative of the hotel rooms. Beware!
