Together with my girlfriend Marta we found Galileo 2000 a great B&B for the offered position. The quietness of the romm was acceptable, the cleaness excellent, I would like to suggest this place to everyone who want to have a strategic position in Florence.

Very friendly and helpful staffs. Rooms were really comfortable,clean and quiet though not good outside view. The good location to Piazza Signoria and Uffizi Gallery, very close to everything to go and see. You had better to take a bus from St.Maria Novella station. take the bus #14 and get out in Via Ghibellina. By walk, it takes 15-20min with your heavy buggages.

This B&B has many great features, the main one is its _location_. It is right in the centre of Firenze and only blocks away from most major sites (Duomo, Uffizi, Accademia, Piazza della Signoria, Ponte Vecchio, etc. The room we had was _massive_ - two good sized rooms could have fit in the one room. Bathroom was more typically sized for Europe (i.e. small compared to Canada or USA). Both rooms were very clean. _Breakfast_ was served in the entrance hall/ room and was good. It included coffee/ tea, baked goods, cereals, etc. (no meat or eggs that I recall but certainly there was enough to fill us both). _Staff_ were very friendly, helpful and available. _Wireless internet_ worked great and was very handy. PS - we really enjoyed grabbing a quick bite and glass of wine at the nearby "I Fratelli" (sp?) "restaurant" nearby - check it out it you walk by (~ 1-2 blocks away). Finally, we maximized our time by visiting the Duomo early (8:30am) and the Accademia late (~ 1 hr before closing there was no line up (Oct.) and thus no need for a reservation).

I can't believe the high quality for the inexpensive price!! Staff was great & hospitable; great variety at breakfast; and the location could not be beat!! The Uffizi was around the corner. The Duomo and Ponte Vecchio were short walks away. Despite being so close to everything, it was very quiet in the rooms. It was also safe, so I'd definitely recommend to solo travelers. We'll definitely stay here again.

The location of Galileo 2000 is excellent, literally steps from Piazza Signoria and Uffizi Gallery, not far from Santa Croce and Duomo. Lots of very good restaurants all around the area easy walking distance. I appreciated the news stand just outside the door of the building. My family enjoyed the fantastic location and would have no problem recommending this property to our friends.
