Resort at Squaw Creek - Olympic Valley, USA 

Following a quiet wedding ceremony in nearby Nevada City, we booked a couple of days of post wedding R&R at what was billed as a service oriented resort hotel. Despite talking with 3 individuals prior to our arrival, a single special wedding gift was "lost" for the first hour due to the hotel's error, and not placed in our rooms as all instructions provided; our special "dessert", ordered and paid for by our friends, was nowhere to be found, and our "quiet" room was the only room on the floor whose master bedroom was immediately connected to the service elevator. The noise was unbelievable. After changing rooms, and a panicked search for our shipment, we had no apology other than from the bell man. The concierge service is capable of only offering advice for the kiddies and many families who are the main attraction and clientele at this hotel. The concierge, reservations staff, and front desk personnel were completely incapable of helping out to create any kind of special stay - even after being told multiple times that this was a wedding night stay and that we only wanted to be away from elevators and to ensure we received our pre-arranged gift -- simple requests that the hotel totally failed to deliver upon. If you are looking for a quiet get-away or service for a special day, forget about this hotel - they do not have the training or ability to provide any kind of service other than checking in and out.
