Clarion Hotel Maingate - Kissimmee, USA 

Just finished vacationing in Florida to visit Disney and do some shopping. Our stay at the Clarion was excellent, the room was spacious and comfortable, the no smoking policy was really appreciated. The staff were very helpful and courteous. I will stay here on my next vacation to Disney.

We booked this hotel well in advance to get a good deal. We were able to get a good price and the pictures and description looked terrific, so we were really excited. I was soon disappointed however. The fridge in the room took forever to get even cool. I brought it to the front desk's attention and they sent in maintenance right away. He just felt it and said it was on full blast and that was all the colder it was going to get. So the fridge could not be used very well. Next we also did NOT like the shuttles to Disney or Seaworld. They were very comfortable and was nice that we didn't have to drive, but you had to be on a strict schedule which was unfortunate. My children were disappointed that we had to leave the light parade at Disney due to needing to be back for the shuttle. When I think of a shuttle I view it as one that will do pick ups and drop offs at multiple times. It was nothing more than a bus. Also I do not recommend using the laundry faculties unless you have very little to wash. I did a normal size load of laundry and it did not spin it out very good and it still was not dry after being run through twice. For the most part the maid service was slow, two of the days we didn't know any different because we were gone at Disney and Seaworld. However, on Sunday we did not have a clean room until after 4:00. It was frustrating to leave the room for awhile hoping to come back to a clean room only to find that it still wasn't clean. When our room was finally cleaned I had to go to the front desk to get clean cups. Overall the hotel was clean, the front staff helpful and it was comfortable. There are plenty of shops and restaurants in close walking distance which was very nice. It was okay for a first time stay, but when we go again in two years we will stay on site at Disney so that the kids can stay late.
