Hotel Simplon - Baveno, Italy 

Stayed two nights at Hotel Simplon while on an Insight Italian Escapade Tour. Had lake view room overlooking pool and terrace. I was travelling alone so double room was more than ample, beautifully furnished. Bath was oddly laid out but worked. Hotel was sparkling clean. Breakfast buffet and served dinner were both above average. My friends had a room on the street which they were not comfortable in as it was noisy and very stuffy. I would definitely recommend the hotel...with a lake (in the distance) view.

We recently enjoyed a short,seven day,stay at this excellent hotel.It is officially rated as four star but in every respect is a five star.The staff are superb,nothing is too much trouble.The food is excellent and the hotel's location can be best described in the words of a American guest who came out onto her balcony on arrival and called to her husband''Honey ,come out here'''When he asked'Why.'She replied'' I think I've died and gone to heaven.''To sum up A superb hotel in an excellent location which is ideal for exploring the lake and it's islands on the ferries which operate a regular ,excellently priced, service. This is a completely different holiday experience and one that is really enjoyable and rewarding.
