The main monuments and museums of the historical centre, like the Uffizi's Gallery, Palazzo Vecchio and The Accademia Museum (which houses Michelangelo's David) are all within comfortable walking distance.
This part of the city is full of shops and authentic crafts' studios, as well as a variety of bars and restaurants.
Travel information
From Peretola airport:
- Take a taxi or shuttle bus from the airport to the central railway station, S. M. Novella.
- From here, you can either take a taxi or the bus letter "D".
- Stop at the Old Bridge. The street that begins from the bridge is Via Guicciardini, where you will find the hotel.
From the A1 motorway:
- Exit for Firenze Sud and continue until the end of the long street.
- Follow signs for the city center, through several traffic lights of the main street (Lungarno Colombo) that lines the river Arno.
- Cross the Verrazzano Bridge and take a right onto Lungarno Ferrucci (don't cross the river again).
- Go straight over the roundabout and traffic lights and after Piazza Ferrucci you will find the Old Bridge in front of you.
- When you have the Old Bridge on your left hand side you are on Via Guicciardini.
