3.7In April 2008 we stayed in Hotel Vasari, and as it was acceptable, this April we choose this hotel again. The hotel is situated very close to the airport shuttle bus stop, the railway station, and to a major hub of the local bus system. Most of the monuments and interesting points can be reached on foot, e.g. Piazza del Duomo is less than ten minute walk. Thus the hotel is convenient both for travel and sight-seeing.
The hotel personnel was kind and helpful.
The medium-size room was clean, simply but practically furnished, with a clean and functional bathroom. The room was quiet, the traffic noise was not disturbing at all, in spite of the proximity of the traffic hubs. This year we had a quiet garden-side room, with trees in front of the window. However, unfortunately, it is not advisable to open the window because of the many mosquitos.
Last year the usual Italian style breakfast was quite limited. This year it was noticeably improved, it was a continental breakfest buffet, with some ham, salami and cheese in the offering.
Hotel Vasari was a good basis for visiting Florence and Tuscany.
