An absolute gem of a hotel! Extremely friendly and very helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room. Comfortable bed with fresh sheets everyday.Secure safe in the room for your valuables.Plenty of choice for breakfast.Hotel is located within 500m of the Duomo and within easy walking distance of all the major sights. If you can't be without the internet there is even free access in the bar. Will we stay there again-Yes!!!

My mother and I stayed at the Hotel Casci for the last week of March 2008, by far the best accomodation of our three week stay in Italy.
We had a spacious room, and the housekeeping was impeccable: fresh linen every day (unlike in Rome where it was changed once during our week-long stay), great towels with heated towel rack, excellent bath and shower, and comfy beds.
The breakfast is more than adequate, with as much coffee as you can drink. There's also a nice litte bar. And a communal computer with free internet access which is rare and really convenient.
Location-wise, Casci is also great: on Via Cavour, just up the street from the Duomo. It was lovely to be somewhere so central, but still have a perfectly quiet room to go back to.
The hotel is family-run, with a warm atmosphere and attentive, personal service, and, above all, it was the friendly, super-helpful people at Casci which made our stay so enjoyable. They were able to suggest restaurants, and not-to-miss day-trips from Florence.
We'll certainly stay at the Hotel Casci next time we're in Florence!
(Oh, and just a warning not to go just by star ratings - our awful hotel in Rome has three - very suspicious - stars.)
