Founded in 1879, the family-owned and run Hotel Pendini offers an old fashioned environment in a distinguished setting. One of the oldest hotel's in Florence, it is located on the 4rth floor of an attractive building above an arcade in the centre of town.

The breakfast room, now located in a large room inside the arch, offers a superb view of via Strozzi. Bedrooms are full of character, some featuring antiques. Early 19th century antiques or reproductions are featured throughout the hotel. I booked this hotel through Venere. I wasn't hoping for much because I haven't had good luck in Florence before. I was pleasantly surprised at the Pendini. It was a little bit worn around the edges and needed some TLC, but it had alot of charm and a great location in the center of everything. The bathroom was small, but had been newly remodeled in Marble (watch out when the floor it wet!). Our beds were comfortable and the breakfast was good. We didn't have too much contact with the staff because we had such a full schedule, but they were helpful and professional. The hotel was clean and it was easy to find from the train station. I would stay here again when I return to Florence.
