4.9We had a wonderful stay at Residence Hilda. We traveled with an 18 month old child and a 13 year old, and the accommodations at RH were perfect for our needs. Having a kitchen to prepare meals for our young son was incredibly convenient, especially since most Florence restaurants don't open for dinner until 7 or 7:30 PM. The staff stocked our fridge with milk upon request at no charge, and also provided a high chair and a crib at no extra charge. They even provided a small teddy bear in the crib, which was a nice touch. The apartment felt spacious and open. The location was perfect for our needs, very close to the Academia and the Duomo. There is a small market down the street for groceries or travel necessities, and a couple of cafes nearby, one that serves American breakfast and one next door that has pastries and good coffee. The only downside is that the units facing the street, as ours was, are exposed to loud people returning from bars late at night. The soundproofing was actually quite good otherwise, as we never heard any of the other people in the residence, although I saw many people come and go. Also, there is free wireless internet access, but the access code provided is only good for an hour at a time, after which you have to re-enter the code again. But the wireless worked flawlessly otherwise.
