We arrived at this hotel and found that they only had a room for 1 night. We got the last room in the place, and although it was very small, it was a very nice and clean room. The breakfest was the best we had in Italy, and the staff pleasant. We went to check out and found that the price was 20 Euro more than the agreed upon price. It must have been a language barriar, but the owner refused to even make that assessment. As the result, we felt cheated and advised him to write down the price from now on, unless this is the game for selling the last room at a lower price.

Hotel Alloro, is very conveniently located, in a quite area though in the city centre. The hotel is actually occupying part of a historic building, so for the first time you may pass by without spotting it. There are elevators well functioning, our room was very spacious and clean, nice furnished and very quite. You might only hear in the morning the noise made by the coffee preparation, depending on where your room is, but this is also a nice waking up, us you can smell the freshly made cappuccinos and you immediately get out of bed to get ready for your own breakfast, which is served in the room. The cappuccinos are excellent! The hotel service was good and we were given a city map when we arrived at the hotel. We had also requested bookings to museums prior to our arrival, and they had been arranged appropriately. General tip: learn a few Italian words before you go, because Italian people avoid speaking English...

Although we were only staying in Florence for one day/night, the person at the front desk helped us tremendously by pointing out the must sees in that short a period. We ended up seeing everything he recommended (and more). The only drawback was no internet (they have it but because of the Italian anti-terrorist law they won't let you use it.) There is a internet cafe very near.

Loved the Burchianti!

We had booked a room in the Alora B&B based on reviews. When we arrived, it turned out they had oversold, so we were brought downstairs to the Burchianti. The alora B&B and the Burchianti are in the same building. The Burchianti was fabulous! Out room was huge with frescoes on the walls and ceilings. The manager spoke excellent English and was very helpful. Breakfast was very good and the room was very quiet. The location is perfect, 5 minutes from the train station and 5 minutes from the Duomo.
