4.6The hotel was located about a 30 minute bus ride from the train station. Be sure you ask when you purchase your bus ticket where exactly to find the bus. It took us 20 minutes to find the spot where the correct bus stopped. I looked so simple but believe me it is not. Once we found the bus, it was only a slight problem knowing where to get off---the directions given by the hotel are only fair. Ask the passengers of the bus to tell you when to get off and save yourself some unwanted steps. Once we found the hotel, we were pleasantly surprised. It is about 15 minute bus ride outside of Florence, very clean, very quite and the staff was very accommodating. The only downfall was the breakfast left alot to be desired. Oh well, coffee and croissants are cheap. If you plan on eating at a restaurant near the hotel forget it as there is only one pizza place nearby. Our first night we did not realize this and came back from Florence about 8PM only to find the one restaurant closed. We were saved by a deli with a very friendly person who provided us with a banquet which we took back to our room. The art in Florence is truly magnificent, the shopping never-ending and gelatto fantastic. Go and enjoy the city and then head to Lake Maggiorie for peace and tranquality and to Venice for wonderful art without the crowds of Florence....just go after the summer season.
When heading back to the train station, you MUST change busses in downtown Florence or else you will take more than an hour to get back to the train station.
