Albergotto Hotel - Florence, Italy

We had a double room and it was very large. The temperature was difficult to regulate, but it was November. We would stay there again. Hotel is very well located to sites and shopping.

It's very important to know that there are two long flights of stairs to climb before arriving at the elevator which takes you to the reception. This hotel would not work for someone who is especially elderly or disabled. However, the room we had looked out onto Palazzo Strozzi and had a good bit of light and a very large bathroom, so was most pleasant. There is a charming sitting room with a very English feel. Our room had a tea kettle and tea bags, which would have been nice, had we wanted a cup of tea before breakfast (in the English fashion) or before bed. The linens were excellent and Monica at the desk helped with dinner reservations and good advice on dining. The location is, of course, excellent, within easy walking distance of all major sights. If I could afford it, I'd stay for several months!

The Albergotto was excellent. The pictures on Venere don't do the hotel justice. The front desk was more than helpful with directions and suggestions for any request. The location is central to any major attraction. Street noise is a problem for open windows.

Beware, they will try to cheat you!

I was billed for 2 nights after staying for only 1. I have been fighting for months to try to get them to refund the second night (when I was in Amsterdam, but they will not....$630 for 1 night in that hotel...seem fair to you? Very disappointing experience with this hotel, there are uch better hotels around the city.

Very nice, good service, good price. The air conditioning could be only ON or OFF. If you have a luggage remember that the elevator is after some stairs.
