Hotel Caravaggio details: Home to friendly staff, pleasant rooms and a cordial atmosphere, this central hotel is positioned close to Florence’s celebrated monuments and museums, and a short walk from the train station.

Situated in a 19th century building, the hotel is convenient for visiting Accademia delle Belle Arti, where Michelangelo’s David is kept; the well-known Duomo; and the Uffizi Museum. Santa Maria Novella train station is a few minutes’ walk away.

On warm days you can enjoy a drink in the little courtyard area before retiring to comfortable rooms with private facilities, some of which have a jacuzzi and broadband internet access.

The major attractions are located within a short walk. Hotel Caravaggio is also very close to the Polo Fieristico Fortezza da Basso, Palazzo dei Congressi and Stazione Leopolda, where the main displays and fairs take place. Booked this hotel through their web site after many recommendations online and it did not disappoint. The street in front is busy and noisy so getting a back room is essential and worth every penny. We had an incredible view from our room of the Duomo and a lovely courtyard. The room was simply appointed, extremely clean, with a good bathroom (with towel warmer), an excellent breakfast buffet in the morning, and an overall first rate, helpful and friendly staff. This hotel is a 3 block walk from the train station so it’s convenient (though the street has narrow sidewalks and is swamped at rush hour), but it’s close to everything (Michelangelo’s “David” being only a few blocks away). There are a ton of places to eat nearby (from cheap to posh), pharmacies, a supermarket, etc. For the money, this 3 star gem was just wonderful and is highly recommended.

we stayed at the Hotel Caravaggio for 2 nights. Its within walking distance of the train station and major sights. Breakfast was good. The room was clean and the staff were helpful and overall an enjoyable stay.
