This is a lovely hotel! Set in the hills above Florence, this is a great little place especially suited for those with a car, as they have a private parking, those who do not mind taking a taxi every day, or those with good strong legs who love to walk. I stayed in the annex which is behind the main house. The room was large by European standards. There was a small TV which I did not care to watch. The honor bar was well-stocked. It was so quiet! Even though my room faced the parking, I did not hear one thing, until my pleasant wake up call in the morning. Because it was so quiet I fell right back asleep and missed breakfast! The bathroom was well appointed, and the heated towel rack was a nice touch after my long bath in the oversized tub. By the time I woke up, it was after checkout and after breakfast. They did not make an issue of my late checkout and they were nice enough to offer me some coffee and some cookies. They could not offer me breakfast as the kitchen was closed, and they seemed upset that they could not accomdate me for my laziness. What service! I was also permitted to wait in the beautiful lounge for my friend to return. She woke up on time and told me the breakfast was lovely.

If you are sick and tired of the crowds of Florence, this is a world away from the souvenirs and tourists. Across the Ponte Vecchio (a fair walk if you enjoy that kind of thing; otherwise, bite the bullet, do as Europeans do and take a taxi from the train station), the hotel is in a lovely quiet neighborhood. The room was large, comfortable and charming. We did not experience the noise mentioned. There is no UPHILL, but a gentle slope up the hill to the hotel (I suppose if you're dragging a huge suitcase it could seem a bit daunting). Kind folks, good enough Italian breakfast, cozy room, lovely neighborhood.

Very professional service. I have stayed and referred people here for more than 30 years, with no disappointments. The decor of the rooms is somewhat sparse, but the location couldn't be better!

The room was very small with very old furniture, the window and the balcony were just above the hotel rubbish deposit. The wifi connection was not reachable from my room. The bath was poor, very small, the quality of the hotel is completely different from what you see in the pictures.

Lovely quiet place in a parklike residential area. Perfect base camp for my run in the marathon. Good breakfast buffet. Staff very friendly. Front desk english fluent. It was very much off-season so the kitchen and bar were not open in evening. We found several great places to eat within a 5-10 min walk. Free parking was nice when we rented a car for a couple days. Handy to buses to train station and throughout city. 15 min walk to Ponte Vecchio and the tourist stuff.
