Alba address: Via della Scala 22, Florence, 50123

Alba details: Situated in the historical centre, this recently-restructured hotel has brought the ancient origins of these stunning buildings to life.

Adjacent to the cloisters of Santa Maria Novella, the 3 ancient buildings surrounding the covered court-yard offer a welcoming corner in the Florentine style with old terracotta, stone and wrought-iron.

The hotel is the ideal base for exploring the city centre, and is located just a few steps from the central train station, all the main museums and monuments and the congress centre.

Close to the station and a gentle 10 min walk into the centre, we enjoyed the welcome, the breakfast, the cleanliness and the city. The Alba is a good looking hotel inside and the staff went out of their way to help.

The hotel Alba is fully deserving of the praise given to it on Trip Advisor.Located just 5 minutes from the Central Station the Alba is in an excellent location both to arrive to and use as a base for sightseeing around Forence. The hotel is spotlessly clean, has helpful staff, has been recently refurbished and offers a good "continental" breakfast.Although rooms do not have a tea making facility, drinks can be obtained from a reasonably priced mini bar, or from the staff on reception (at a price).A free safe in the room is an added bonus. Florence is a Renaissance theme park with everything the serious artist, historian and tourist could wish for.Prices are higher than some Italian cities but meals etc are still good value. and there are several good informal restaurants near to the hotel.Try also the San Lorenzo market, good food and good fun! One tip , use a map rather than your instinct, despite everything being centrally located the streets are narrow and the buildings high making navigation by landmark difficult.
