This is not a three star hotel!!! Try other hotels before coming to this one! Except the reception, the hotel is from the 60s and they never renewed it! The first "double" room I was offered was a bad joke. When went down to the reception they changed my room in two seconds to another slighty better. In the room there was a heater/air-conditioner that even if it was OFF, it made a lot of noise, like water flowing. I couldn't sleep in all the night. A several days stay in that hotel must be terrible!!!

There was a bad smell in the room. The only advantage of this hotel is taht the cold water isn't too cold, because there wasn't warm water. I would not recomend this hotel.

I read all of the reviews and was totally prepared for the worst when we left for Florence. Once we found the bus stop to head to the hotel, we piled onto a crammed bus that stopped about a half mile from our hotel and kicked us all off, i assume, because his shift was over. So my boyfriend and i hauled our suitecases the rest of the way...thank goodness i had printed out a map, or i would have been even MORE pissed off.Once we found the hotel, the older gentleman at the desk helped us, with little to no personality. Our room was VERY basic...a bed, a desk, a lamp, a small TV, a phone that didnt work, a window with a mini balcony, and an OLD A/C unit that was loud and didnt blow out very cold air. We stuck it out...the front desk did make us reservations at a fabulous restaurant. The hotel is a good 25-35 min walk into the main city, but we enjoyed the walk, and stopped at a few stores on the way. So I didnt think it was the 'Worst hotel in Florence', but i think we'll spend the extra bucks to get an air conditioned place in the main city centre next time.

Great stay! superb staff and ever so helpful speaking fluent english. The rooms were ok, although dated. We only spent one evening here befor moving onto siena. Loaction is good, set slongside the river and only a 10/15 minute walk to the city centre, also easy to find using GPRS
