4.9We stayed in the 'Annex' and I saw some complaints from people staying there, but there were also many positive reviews. We found staying the the Annex awesome! It is true that you need to walk a block for breakfast and I don't know what the rooms are like in the hotel, but the room we stayed in the Annex was awesome! There is no elevator but our luggage was not that heavy. We were on the top floor and our room was more like an appartment - a full kitchen with full size fridge and stove/oven, a large patio that overlooks the hills surrounding town and a very quiet large room. The bathroom light was not working when we arrived but they provided a temporarly light and fixed the problem the next day (they had to re-wire an entirely new light fixture). The staff is very friendly. The free high speed internet is a bonus. The rates are reasonable and within easy walking distance of the train station was awesome. The only downside: Florence is larger than it looks on a map, so even though we were near the train station right in town, it was about a 20 minute walk to the Duomo and Uffizi gallery.
